Built in 1867 as a Victorian home and hunting lodge, by the Macdonald Clan, Duisdale House later became a hotel in 1900. The king sized beds are fitted with 600 Egyptian cotton sheets and there are excellent views of the immediate highlands. For a greater degree of opulence, please consider the ‘Master Suite’, which has an impressive floor space of 60 square metres. Finally, for a group of friends or a family, the luxury ‘Cottage’ presents guests with up to 3 beds in 41 square metres of space to lounge in. Not only will you have the ideal setup for your extended party, but you will also have the privacy of being located in the Hotel’s more discreet part of the estate.

An evening of wonderful dining would not be complete without a nightcap, so amble to the Chart Room. As of February 2023, Duisdale House Hotel welcomed its new Head Chef, Stephen Crichton. Upon his arrival, Stephen introduced the Hotel’s new “Sustainable and Seasonal Menu”. This innovative organic menu elevates flavours & ingredients that are local to the hotel and to Isle of Skye. Guests can enjoy Scottish Chanterelle Mushrooms, Samphire, Borage Flowers and Wild Garlic. Showcased on the menu are such dishes as a starter of “Scorched Mackerel, with Celeriac Remoulade” and a main of “Roast Beetroot and Candied Lemmon Zest, Cannon of Lochalsh Lamb with Rosti, Savoy Cabbage, Parsnip Puree and Dunvegan Venison Loin with Caramelised Cauliflower, Poached Pear and Blue Cheese”…wow, what a mouthful!
