“My dad and I stayed here for 3 nights and by the time we had to leave, we felt like we were leaving our dear friends. The entire staff made us feel welcome and added to our Kenyan experience in a way we couldn't have imagined. Our guide Empapa was so determined to make sure we saw every animal we wanted, Lillian the manager helped us with everything we needed and Benson our waiter was very attentive. We really felt like we made new friends while we were there. In addition, the tents were lovely and the riverfront setting is unlike any other camp we stayed at. Watching the hippos and other animals on the river with a cocktail in hand was one of our favourite ways to spend an afternoon. We can't wait to be back!”

“We spent 4 nights at Karen Blixen Camp to celebrate my birthday. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we were spoiled, incl a birthday cake at dinner on the first night. The staff is extremely tentative and nothing is too much. The rooms are fantastic the beds comfortable and the outdoor shower is wow. The food is good and each evening a different menu. The bush breakfast was an experience. Jack our game ranger was fantastic, we saw 3 crossings and everything else in between. We stayed in room 6 with a fantastic view of the river, a little noisy because of the rapid in the river, but we could still hear the hypo’s .
Because the camp is in a conservatory the drive to the actual Mara can take you 30 minutes, but that is made up when you get back. The camp offers unlimited game drives, which is amazing. You will not be disappointed when visiting Karen Blixen Camp.”

“At Karen Blixen Camp we responded to all wishes whether it was food or whatever. The view of the hippos and the animals that Wasser are looking for is unique. The only thing that takes some getting used to is the volume of the river which is very loud. But I'm not sure if this is the case with all tents. The tents are great and very big compared to other lodges.”
